We ate out yesterday evening. Lilly was very well behaved under the table. Was given a bowl of water and got to choose off their doggy menu. She opted for 2 Cumberland sausages. We waited until we were finished before she got them. Weren't tempting fate :D
    She excelled herself though.
    Now....where to go this evening.......

Very similar to Jac's post I'm afraid. just back from a Night Out with Cuillin and Brodick. They were fab. One day a week I work a full day with an hours visit to the pups at lunch time ,other t
days just half days, today was a full day so they hadn't had the most exciting of days, in their crates for three hours, visit from mum, then three hours again, but got home from work, got them out for an hours off lead romp, then we went straight to the pub to meet friends for drinks. Now this pub is ace in that it gives all doggy visitors a chew plus they can go on the sofas as long as you bring a blanket, but even so they were sooo well behaved. Just said waggy hellos then hopped up on sofas with the humans and cuddled in nice and chilled and hung with their people for two hours, getting pats and the odd crisp or two....particularly for cuilli who can be a bit highly strung at times, a great night, and felt like I have grown up well behaved dogs who can go anywhere with me, no matter what, now....Good puppies! :)

2 great dogs Debsie and a great pub by the sounds of it. You're in edinburgh too aren't you? Would you mind sharing which pub? Yet to tackle that kind of place and it'll be a long time before I'll be able to post about a successful visit on this thread but might be a good idea to start in a super dog friendly place.

I am indeed! This was the Regent in Abbeyhill, its lovely and two minutes from Arthurs Seat so you can get a good romp in before a pub visit....Hemma next to Scottish Parliament also near to great walk area and gives treats and allows dogs on sofas, and is a bit bigger too...we really need to get a Scottish meet up going dont we, lots of us now...

Our pub was in Appleby in Westmorland. Called The Royal Oak.
We had picked up a leaflet of dog-friendly pubs but this one happened to be just next door to us.

To be honest....Lilly has been fab this week. Lots of walking, mostly on lead, and lots of plodding around towns and she has been a star. Loads of dogs around. Most we saw was in Keswick I think. I reckon there are loads of walkers with dogs in tow. Seem to be pretty relaxed and welcoming about the dogs.
Even in Blackpool they weren't bad (which we had heard was really unfriendly) although we were just wandering and not really in anywhere for long. And the dog curfew on the sands had stopped 31st Sept ;D

Today, Willow started retrieving for the first time. It's not something I've started even thinking about training, so it's all instinct and it's FAB! She couldn't get enough of it; there was so much joy in her little face! I also found out that if I make a "grrr" noise, which I've been doing when playing tug with her with the rope, that she holds onto the ball and tugs away, but as soon as I stop doing it, she drops the ball in my hand. Every time! Without being told! This can't last, can it? :D

After a short period of enforced rest, the work we had done on retrieve had all but disappeared so we have been building back up, having to start right from getting interested in the dummy again. Sunny day, lots of energy, stash of sardines and we had success!! The picture you don't get to see is me jumping up and down like a loon, cheering in an empty field.

Willow has been meeting our ferrets "nose to nose", with H holding the fuzzbutts and me holding the pup. She's always been very excitable, so encounters have been very short. This morning she was almost nonchalant. She gave them a quick sniff, but wasn't excited in the slightest. We're still going to take it slowly, but this is a good sign that they can meet properly soon! Well done Willow!
