Shaping the Clicker?

    Heidrun talked about shaping the clicker (at least that's what I think that's what is was) but I can't find the post. My question is, can I practice this in the paddock or is it too soon. All going extremely well indoors with recall C&T. Thanks Helen :)

    oh no, whats shaping the clicker, only just got use to the word charging the clicker :)

    Shaping is a clicker training term. It means you are click & treating little baby steps in the right direction of the behaviour you finally want.

    Have a look at this youtube video. It explains it much better than I could with words. Note how there is no command word or cue yet. That will come later.

    Heidrun, many thanks for the clip which was extremely useful to me. I got straight to work with it and Charlie did extremely well. Thanks again for your help. Helen :D
