At Rue's appointment today, she only weighed 25 lbs (11.3 kg) at 4 months, 1 week. When we got her at 8 weeks, she was only 7 lbs. (3.1 kg). She has a bit of a belly on her and definitely isn't underweight, though she is more so on the thin side compared to other pups, I'd say --just a smaller build overall. The vet did say to increase her dry food by a half a cup a day to see if that makes a difference.

I shouldn't worry too much , as long as your Vet is happy with her and gives her a clean bill of health , by all means try increasing the food but they do vary so much within the breed . My own Lab Sam, now three years old , was a whopper , never ever looked little and currently weighs about 37 kilos but not a scrap of fat , all bone and muscle , so don't worry, as long as she is healthy , fit and playful , that's all that matters x

I've just had a look back at some of her weigh-ins and at 18 weeks she was 11.75kg. She is now 7.5 months old and weighs 17.5 kgs and looks just right. Have a look at he "how much does your puppy weigh" thread, it's very interesting to see how much all our labs differ in size and weight.
Re: Any others on here with pups on the smaller side? Bob was 8 1/2 weeks on Monday and he only weighed 2.4kg! He is SO light! I met a 9w old whippet yesterday who weighed LOADS more than Bob... But the vet seemed to be happy with that so I'm not going to worry too much. Lou x

And yes, she was completely healthy, so I'm happy!

There is such a wide range of sizes that we all worry about either under feeding them or over feeding them and, sometimes on the same day I haven't had Molly weighed since she was spayed at seven months in April when the Vet described her as a petite Labrador. She is healthy and energetic so I think I am getting it right. Be aware that the food manufactures tend to be very generous in their suggestions of how much you should feed.
