This morning I found a large spider lurking half under a door jamb on the landing. As it was impossible to cover it with a glass I had no option but to try to squash it, making it run out a little way before being squashed ... huge, long legs ... splatted on the carpet. I went to get a tissue to pick it up and dispose of it, but returned just in time to see Tuppence doing the job for me, leaving just two of its long legs. Needless to say, I couldn't even stroke her for a while ... ???
Re: Yuk! How could she .... Just another handy benefit of owning a lab. Also good for beetle disposal, fly catching and moth hunting. Not quite so good on the mouse catching, but their finely tuned crumb-hinting noses do help to reduce the incidence of mice in the house.
Re: Yuk! How could she .... Oh good grief,I am totally arachnophobic......
As it was impossible to cover it with a glass
No,no,no,no Luckily I don't come across many in Dubai but nasties do live amongst us ....
Re: Yuk! How could she .... Willow ate a daddy long legs this morning. I'm not scared of them, but I hate them, the way they are completely useless but just fly around the room, bumping into everything and invariably ending up in your hair. Go, Willow, go!
Re: Yuk! How could she .... Elsie is scared of spiders, leaves them to Chihuahua Betty to deal with, she is a moth hunter though and loves leaping up the walls to catch them.
Re: Yuk! How could she .... Nellie has eaten a few bigguns over the last couple of weeks! She decided to play with one in the kitchen a few weeks ago dropping it and catching it again whilst it was still alive, I was horrified I do not like spiders!!
