I took Bouncer to our local field for some off the lead training, he was doing so well, sticking to me like glue & recalling when needed.

Then an enormouse golder retriever came lolloping over & basicly bowled him over, he was a bit scared (the dog is like 5 times his size), The owner was screaming at the dog to stop, I called Bouncer to me & when he got a chance he came running & I scooped him up into my arms.

The owner came over & said "sorry, its the first time she has been off the lead today & she has gone a bit nuts".

I said "this little guy is only 13 weeks old & came to me when called, yours didnt, maybe dont take it off the lead?". He just stormed off.

Bouncer, I am one proud puppy owner, extra spratts for you tonight.

    Well done Bouncer :)

Please try not to be too harsh with other dog owners (unless they hurt him or distract you from training)......some dogs can have a brilliant recall, but they all have off days.

Well done Bouncer! Make sure you keep up your own training as a 10 month old dog tends to be deafer than a 13 week old pup ;)

The owner of the Goldie could buy a copy of 'Total Recall' (the book). It's terribly frustrating when your dog won't come....but as we know it's mostly just a matter of training properly and practice.

    What a little star, bouncer.

You have to maintain that puppy recall through the teenage months though... I'm sure you will. :) :) :)
