    Morning all,

    1) Hollie has had explosive diarrhoea this morning 4 episodes, 2 before a reduced amount of breakfast and 2 after, although the after ones weren't as much, she seems fine in her self just a gurgley tummy,.she was asleep after her breakfast which she normally is but came to put the bins out just in case she missed anything and went the second time. Should I give chicken and rice? Is it breast or which part? I've never had to give it before. how much do I give?

    2) she hasn't put on any weight this week? She normally puts around a kg on. She gets 115g x3 of skinners field and trial puppy with 45g of treats a day, should I be worried??

Thanks again for all your help?

I would have thought her weight increases would naturally slow down a little at her age..I make her around 4 months old? :) Benson as a pup certainly had his ups and downs weight -wise, however to the eye always looked about right.

I am not sure how much feed she should have, but 345g +45g grammes in treats daily seems a little high to me, bear in mind I am not experienced, and best wait for other more knowledgeable opinions :)

Hope her tummy settles soon, must be so worrying for you :)

Thanks Kate, I've phoned the vets and we have to starve her for 24 hours then start on scrambled egg, chicken and rice and see how she goes. She is still drinking and getting extra ice cubes.

Hollie is 18 weeks today and the recommended amount of food is between 410-525g a day!!!! She is getting less so if she doesn't put any weight on next week we will up the amount. The vets said not to worry amount the weight as the do slow down.

    Feel a little better now

    :)

Well my dog had explosive diarrhea this week too. She is only 10 weeks old. I definitely wouldnt starve her. I just started feeding her boiled chicken breast (no skin, no bones) and white rice (on the watery side). I fed it to her warm (heated in microwave). Vet suggested 1/2 cup each meal, so 1.5 cups a day. My pup would be starving with that, so I've been reading her more like 1 cup each meal. The diarrhea went away and she is having solid poops now.
