    Yeah...I bought a show line dog in the hope that I could walk passed tennis courts without a lunging mess going nuts over the opportunity to retrieve (however remote), and walk on a lead down the side of a field with one pheasant in it in some semblance of order....

    Field-Pheasant-Semblance of Order...never occur in the same sentence in my world if Brodick is present ;D

    What I meant was that if you are wanting a working type but don't want the strong working lines there are some lovely dogs who have both show and working lines in that might make a better pet dog.

    I too have met plenty of show type labs with a strong hunting desire!
