Hi all, just wondering if it's a normal for nose color to change.lukas nose has always been jet black and in the last few weeks it has gone to a pinker shade on the top and on the side nostril bits. No other symptoms at all. Both parents have black noses. Is it possibly because he is getting older or is it a weather changing thing? Just curious...
Re: Changing nose color Hi! I had the same question a while back: http://www.thelabradorforum.com/index.php?topic=8276.msg117336#msg117336 Maisie's nose has gone quite pink now! It appears to all be normal
Re: Changing nose color Harley's nose has gone more pink over the past month or so - don't know why :
Re: Changing nose color Apparently some dogs noses go paler in the winter / cold weather. It is something about levels of melanin in skin...perfectly normal, like a reverse suntan. (It can affect the colour of pads on feet too.) I've not noticed any change in Pongo, but I don't think it is anything to worry about.
Re: Changing nose color Nope, nothing to worry about It should darken up a bit in the summer, but probably won't return to full black.
Re: Changing nose color I believe it's called Winter nose or Snow nose. Mainly affects Yellow labs I think, but any colour could get it. Normal and nothing to worry about, and as Oberon says it should darken again in Summer. Jan
