Hi, I have a chocolate lab who is 4 months old and adorable! She is my first ever pup and I training is going quite well! However, she simply refuses to listen to me when jumping up on the furniture.

Hi Mols, there have been a few previous threads about this.
There is one about using clicker training, I don't know if it might be of help to you....

I am sure Rachael (Oberon) gave some very good advice before, but can't quite recall....I will see if I can find it.

Hello there, welcome to the forum.

Jac has posted some useful links...my advice is just let your lab on the sofa. 99% of labrador owner seen to do so - and that way you get more cuddles!

My Tatze (pet dog, 18 months) is allowed on the sofa.

Gypsy (Guide Dog Pup, 5 months) isn't.

I put Gypsy's bed right next to me, on the floor by the sofa - and she's fine.

I did have to teach her not to go on the sofa. First I taught her 'off' by throwing treats on the floor and using the 'off' command at the same time. Then I fed her lots of treats on her bed, every few seconds, then every few minutes. Now I just give her a treat as she goes on - she goes straight her bed there now - and, of course, I can reach her easily for lots of fuss.

    :)
