She had a fabulous second walk in the evening and met a new play mate. I left my camera in my friend's car, but hope I've got some good ones to share later :)

Third walk this morning was also great. She met a dog that we thought could be a bit "funny", but she basically ignored it, and he bounced around with very positive body language for about thirty seconds then bolted off when she didn't play. AND she had a (very little) wee whilst on the walk!! I've not been to the gym since we got her, and I can really feel it on even our short (but hilly) walks. I'm secretly glad I don't have to walk her for hours just yet - I'm nowhere near fit enough :D

You will build your fitness as she does..ive always been committed to the gym and quite intense classes but a few factors ...age ( :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ ) big ankle injury earlier in the year, general aches and pains blah blah blah slowed me down.....I probably walk dexter for 3 hours a day minimum and I've seen no difference in my weight ,shape ,stamina or muscle tone....I'm signed up for a Colour Run at the end of the month( very excited) it's 5 Kms....I got on the treadmill the other day and ran it comfortably ...I haven't run for 10 months! These dogs get you fit without you even realising it ....

I enjoy my weightlifting and it's great for increased bone density, which I'm interested in as I get older, so I'll get back to it as soon as possible. Walking with the pups (and acting the fool, running around and making them chase me) will have to suffice for my cardio :)

Another walk this evening, and another fabulous time. We met a couple of dogs we know and I was really pleased how she adapted her behaviour. The first is a grumpy old man - a little scruffy chap - and she was very reverential, getting on her belly in front of him rather than jumping all over him. He just stood there, looking imperious. Then, we met a 4-year old lab she already knows and she went charging up to him to say hi, then followed him round like a shadow. They were going in the opposite direction to us, so I used my whistle and she came running. What a good girl!

AND, she had her first poo on a walk! I made sure she was full before going out because I want her to get used to going while we're out and not relying on going at home. I gave her lots of praise and a nice treat :)

I knew we had forgotten a sub category for the poo board. My puppy had a first poo/first poo on a walk. ;D ;D ;D

We used to give Charlie treats for both pooing and peeing outside the garden. This was after we'd stood for ages in a motorway service station, while we were on a long journey, with a puppy bursting but refusing to "go".

He is nearly 20 months now, and still comes running up for a treat. "Look mum, I did a poo! Give me a biscuit!" ;D ;D ;D
