Does anyone have recommendations as to what we should keep in a first aid kit for our pup? All advice gratefully received Barbara
Re: First aid kit for dogs Tick tweezers too, these are brilliant for levering off ticks without leaving the head behind. Also scissors for cutting away fur around wounds or cutting firmly snagged teazles or bramble sticks out of longer coats. Something to make a pressure pad out of for when you need to stop bleeding - cotton wool wrapped in some kind of cotton sheet or bandage would suffice. Those bandages that stick to themselves are handy too, not sure what they are called.
Re: First aid kit for dogs on a lab forum Pippa? Every day has a biscuit theme! Well in my world anyway ;D we went to a new care home today - barney did very well for biscuits and cleaning up nicely after everyone - not a crumb in sight!
Re: First aid kit for dogs Lucky Barney! I'm off to find a snack, all this talk of biscuits is making me hungry!
Re: First aid kit for dogs I now want biscuits too! This is usually a bad sign if you need them, but I recommend carrying really good wire cutters!
Re: First aid kit for dogs
Those bandages that stick to themselves are handy too, not sure what they are called.
If they're the ones I'm thinking of then they're called Cohesive bandages. You can roll them on and off and they stick to themselves but nothing else.
Re: First aid kit for dogs This might sound obvious - but a copy of the vet's emergency phone number.
