Just wondered how the younger pups were doing at night time? We take Bob out at 11pm for a last sniff and toilet, then into crate. The last few days he's been waking around 6.30am which is fine really as I've got to be up for the school run around 7am anyway. On the times he wakes up before then, I take him out quickly... put him straight back in the crate and come back upstairs. The dark mornings help with this actually as I don't turn any lights on which means he knows that it's not time to wake up yet. He's been pretty good with it actually - we get a bit of whining and barking to start with (hunger probably) but he seems to settle back down. I feel like I'm getting my sleep back too thankfully!
Re: How are all our younger pups doing at night?? Willow's great now. She generally doesn't wake up until 7:10 - 7:20ish. We put her to bed at midnight, after her last wee of the night. Occasionally, she'll wake up a little earlier (6am) needing a poo if she hasn't had one the evening before, but I put her back to bed afterwards and she settles with no whining at all. She's a complete star. Still not getting much sleep, though. I was awake from 2:45 through to getting up time this morning. Stupid insomnia. Joy.

I think then that if we put Bob to bed a bit later he may go longer but we are shattered by 11pm, I literally have to put matchsticks in my eyes! Before Bob we used to be in bed by 10pm, 10.30pm latest, so that extra half hour hurts!
Re: How are all our younger pups doing at night?? Last night we put Rolo to bed at 9.30 and didn't hear a peep from him till 7.15am! He is settling so much better now.
Re: How are all our younger pups doing at night?? Obi spaniel is going to bed around 10:30 and being let out between 6 and 7 when we head downstairs to get our daughters milk. He gets breakfast around 6:30 on a weekday and 7:30 at the weekend. He's remarkably quiet considering how gobby he is the rest of the time ;D Thank goodness they're all getting the hang of it. I'd forgotten how tiring it is getting no sleep - my utmost sympathy snowbunny

Re: How are all our younger pups doing at night?? Inca is sleeping 10.30 - 6.30 during the week and 11 - 7.30 at weekends. Works perfectly for us. I feel like I have got my life back again!
Re: How are all our younger pups doing at night?? Ruby has finally made it through the night at 12 weeks and 3 days!! We are now doing 10:30pm to 7am yey Now need to work on being able to have a lie in on a weekend. I think for a while this will involve getting up at 7am for wee/poo then giving her a kong in the crate for an hour. So happy that no more middle of the night trips are needed
Re: How are all our younger pups doing at night?? I think this thread should be recommended reading for all new puppy owners going through the "OMG what have I done" phase of sleep deprivation and being an unpaid lavatory attendant! It does pass!

Our girls are 5 months and will sleep from 10/10:30 - 7:30 and probably would go longer, that's just when I wake up. No whining or barking, we just make sure they poo last thing at night, otherwise we go get woken by a desperate pup! Our old dog Muffin used to go from about 8pm (not crated) to about 7am without any fuss, even in her later years. Such a fab dog!

Darcey sleeps from approx 11 till 6.00 and then she has quiet time in her crate for about an hour, she also now lies in the crate without a noise at night, its amazing that something so small can make so much noise lol susannah & darcey
