Re: Siblings and half siblings
Can heartily recommend these new fangled hips ;D
You speak from experience, Jac?
Re: Siblings and half siblings Yes Karen, I do. Suffered from congenital hip dysplasia. Had "resurfacing" done in Jan 2005 - this is really just a short stemmed joint replacement. Best thing I ever did. Age 39 New lease of life and all that ;D I would never have even considered getting a dog before it - my walking was appalling, but you just accept it and get on with it, then realise afterwards that you should have had it done years ago. The hip and the dog ;D ;D jac xx
Re: Siblings and half siblings Oh, thanks for the reassurance. So glad it's made such a difference to you! X
Re: Siblings and half siblings Hope if goes as well for you as it did for me, Karen. Best advice I could give is follow all the instructions you get to a "T" - Particularly restraining the desire to bend down too early, and do all the exercises as instructed by physio! My consultant was also a stickler for infection control - we were all swabbed pre-surgery and there was a strict rule of no visitors sitting on beds or the "patient" chair. Really hot on that part - and no flowers in the ward. And only the bare minimum of visitors to trail in bugs!! I'm sure you will let us know when D-Day is
Re: Siblings and half siblings Couple of weeks... Bit nervous, but hopeful I'll soon be able to do long hikes again... Thanks for your supportive words. I appreciate it.
