I have a male dog he is about 7 months and he has started to lift leg when peeing :D

I am not going to castrate my puppy, only if there is serious problems, but i am just curious about what happens after castration.

What changes after a dog gets castrated?

What is the pros and cons?

If your male dog is castrated, what behaviour change did you see?

Basically, they don't change in personality or energy levels, in my experience. But they do become less determined to get to bitches in heat.

Neutered dogs still mostly lift their legs to pee. They still want to pee on every tree and lamp post :)

The main advantage to castrating a male is not having to worry about unwanted puppies and not having to worry about clueless people walking round with bitches in heat.

I agree totally with Rachael...we had no changes in behaviour,.I have had lead reactivity problems but I don't think that was a direct result of Dexters castration.....he hasn't out weight on or slowed down in any way at all x
