Re: Leaving your labrador behind Thank you. I liked the last bit of the article re most dogs wil be happy. I tried a couple of kennels before settling on our current one. Because of what we both do as a living we need to board Lady frequently (twice a month for a couple of days or so each time in the summer) so she has to be happy there. The first one we tried was a disaster really. After a couple of visits, Lady was most reluctant to go in and scrunched up in the back of the Land Rover as far from the door as possible then went in with tail right between legs. The one we chose in the end is very good and such a contrast. It's small and they make a fuss of the dogs and play with them. Lady leaps out of the Land Rover, scrabbles at the kennel main gate until it's opened and then actually pulls on the lead to go in and is really excited to meet the girls who look after the dogs. Mind you she is really keen to come home too thank goodness or that would make me feel really insecure.
Re: Leaving your labrador behind It sounds like you've found a great place for Lady. When I've had to put Rocket in kennels it's always been an easy choice as the breeder/trainer we got her from offers a kenneling service and the two of them love each other. She does have a tendency to feed Rocket about a weeks worth of food every day, but neither of them mind that. So other than the fact I don't like being dog-less everyone is happy.
