I wash my dog bed covers once a week and the actual bed bit once a month :)

This is our Wolfy bed - it's Gypsy's bed at night (Tatze still has her crate)

(We seem to have one of every type of bed going - hehe!)

I have now ordered the Wolfy bed! It will only be used at night for the Lab that became scared of sleeping downstairs and now sleeps in my room. It will save me having to carry the Meg bed up and down each day. I wanted something cosy for him as it gets chilly in my room.

Downstairs, I have two Tuffie beds with covers and a Meg bed from Overhill Kennels; I love the Meg beds.

We've tried a couple of different beds, the edible variety i guess. Now we make Sara sleep on the couch. She chewed on the cushions once, so I took them off and replaced them with a piece of plywood. She had a choice between the plywood or a tile floor. I put the cushions back the next day and she hasn't touched them since. I even gave her a small pillow for her head. ( the eyes made me do it) . It's almost as though there's some intelligence creeping into the puppy thing. ;D

Here is the photo of our Wolfy bed when we got it, it's four months old now and holding up really well. The cushion cover is the bit I wash once a week. The base bit I wash once a month. Both wash well :)

Tatze is still in her crate (21 months) simply because she loves it and cries if I don't shut the door at night!

Gypsy was very young - 16 weeks, as she absolutely hated it and shouted the house down every time we put her in! She had to be de-crated at 6 months anyway, so we didn't think it was worth the fuss.

    :)

Bella won't have the crate door shut either and really created, but sleeps there with it open during the day in the kitchen. At night she's now in my room( after all the night waking saga.... but she's sleeping 10-7am now so I can't complain!!) but in a zip up fabric crate , a nice comfy bed will be something to look forward to, think she would get up and wander now at night, although during the evenings watching tv in the lounge she would probably love it, she's just started moving between sofa and carpet for naps ;D

Just had my Wolfy dog bed delivered, husband ordered it without asking me, so I didn't have a choice of colour! I thought the whole bed could be washed, but the sides do not have a zip! The cushion has a zip; can the rest of the bed be shoved into the washing machine?

Yes, I shove it in, it washes fine but takes a day to dry :)

    Re: Wolfy Dog Beds

Hi all - I'm hijacking this thread!

So I'm starting to let Seren into our living room more and more, and am thinking of getting him a bed so he can relax with us in there (his crate is in the utility room). I kind of don't want to fork out for a puppy bed as he seems to be growing fast, so is it a good idea to get a full size bed and let him grow into it?

Also, will it confuse him to give him another area to sleep in, as he will still be crated at night etc, and don't want night crating to go backwards at all... What did you all do?

    Thanks! :)

A big bed is fine and no, it won't confuse him at all :)
