Since we put Rue's big dog collar on her and stopped using the harness on walks about 3 weeks ago, she has been jumping/biting at the leash much more as well as pulling.

Today, when I put the leash on her, she immediately started biting it and jumping up on me. I said "no" then dropped the leash and left the room. A few more minutes of doing this over and over, and she finally let me put the leash on her with no trouble whatsoever! And we got through the whole walk without any gnawing or jumping! I'm sure it'll take a few more sessions to get it down, but it's exciting to see quick improvements. Walks have NOT been fun lately.

Next up on the list is the pulling. Any tips? I've been trying the stopping every time she pulls and calling her to me for a few days, but so far, that hasn't helped too much. She goes right back to pulling.

We are taught at puppy school drunk walking. Your walking they pull you immediately change direction, it happens again you change direction again. I must admit I am very naughty because I very rarely take Rolo on a lead walk anymore but need to start soon. Get the training in again.

The jumping and gnawing at the lead Rolo has done from day one, good idea dropping the lead and leaving the room. Might try that myself.

    Good luck.
