I must add to the rat stories. I clean houses for a living and one house that is in the countryside, the owners had nine cats. Two years age every morning on arrival I would have to check under the kitchen table for the dead rat. There must have been a wee home where the wee blighters were hiding out and the cats had discovered them. So as cats like giving gifts they're would be a dead young rat under the table. I must have picked up at least seven over a few weeks.

This is one of the many reasons I don't have cats.

If rats are close to houses, the council will usually deal with the matter if you report it. It's really not ok to have rats close to human spaces - they will move in eventually.

We get rats in the garden. They're quite sweet looking.....no good for toddlers and dogs though so the man from the council came out poor little ratty....

Tatze found a dead, poisoned rat :-\ luckily she swapped it for a tripe stick. I have taught 'swap' for valuable treats and was very very pleased I had!! I always carry a (wrapped!) tripe stick with me now for swapping with yukky dead things (poo bags come in handy for disposal too).

    Bleugh!
