Re: We have a man down Poor Obi, I hope his wound sorts itself out soon. Healing vibes heading your way x
Re: We have a man down I have mental pictures too Julie about forum members and their dogs, I wonder how close to the real thing they are. H x
Re: We have a man down I have a sneaky suspicion my picture of the owners is WELL off-target compared to the dogs!
Re: We have a man down Thanks so much, everyone! Obi says that he is growing his fur back with all his might. It's not looking any more swollen up this morning, which is good. He is at home from day care today and tomorrow so he will just be sleeping - that might help a bit.
Re: We have a man down I think you're right about the activity level, Rachel - that's what happened with Simba's incision. He'd been dashing around madly which aggravated it, I think, but after a sleep and a quieter day it was back to normal. I think it would be fun to see pics of dogs and owners alike - I have a mental pic of you all, too...and you are all smiling, friendly, and holding a dog leash in one hand and a cup of tea (or wine) in the other...well, okay, Heidrun has no leash (she doesn't need one!) and has her whistle in her mouth, and David has a walking stick with which to banish roving bovines, Julie's got her camera, Lynne's grandson is actually holding the leash, Angela has coffee (since it's 5 AM for her, after all), Helen's knuckles are white from holding Charlie's leash so tightly...okay, I'll stop now....
Re: We have a man down Oh Lisa ,you have made me laugh and laugh with that ......and what about you?????I see you ,braced and ready with your clicker at all times to seize the opportunity to mark some good behavior from Simba.....and then when you are relaxed.....climbing up onto your kitchen stool that is now balanced carefully on top of your sofa!cant wait to get up tomorrow and read how Simba was when you get home, safe drive on the last bit x
Re: We have a man down Well the offerings to the gods must have worked because we have had improvement over the past couple of days. Puffiness has gone down without any recurrence. So here's hoping this is the end of it - apart from the 'growing fur back' (again) bit. Thanks all for your kind thoughts Obi sends big licks, and, for those who don't want licks, big wiggles and waggles.
Re: We have a man down awh poor obi, as had a bad couple of months,.......i hope this is the end of it, sending big hugs
Re: We have a man down Just to update this... The fluid build up has not come back, though after getting the spot shaved (again) Obi developed a skin infection (again) which made his fur fall out in a patch and which needed a week of anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, steroid cream. That seems to have cleared up and now he is growing his fur back. We really hope that this is the last of it. Poor man, it's been a bit of a saga..... A dog bite really doesn't like to go away quietly...!
Re: We have a man down Hi Rachel I've only just seen this thread about obi's dog bite. The poor thing and poor you and I've just read update on his teeth. He has been in the wars a lot recently. Here's hoping all is well now. Also just because a border collie bit him doesn't mean he'll hate all BC 's or get vicious. I literally lost count of the number of times my old lab got attacked in his lifetime by all sorts of breeds. He never altered always wanted to play with everything even if they wanted to eat him! ;D Fingers crossed for obi and you Jen
Re: We have a man down He really does deseve for this to be over now Rachael, so fingers crossed that it is , brave boy
Re: We have a man down Poor, poor Obi has had such a rough time, please get better soon Obi you really deserve to be back to full health. Sending you a great big hug. Helen xx
Re: We have a man down Thanks so much guys The poor man really has has far too many vet trips for one so young.... Hope that this is the last of it for a while. Fortunately Obi is an easy going chap like your boy, Jen, and still seems to be totally fine with BCs That was our main worry, but it all seems fine on that front
