I am now a fully fledged Labrador mum. This morning, when I let Molly into our frozen garden for the first wee of the day I found something strange laying on the lawn (well if you can describe as a lawn after a year of Molly's tender ministrations). On closer inspection it turned out to be the vine that my daughter bought for my husband's birthday in October. Did I shout, beat and berate the dog. No, sucker that I am I (and still wearing my jammies) i poked it back into the freezing earth with my bare hands and trod it in with my bedroom slippers (I now have cold wet toes). It grows against (well it did) the warm, south facing wall of the house and was probably the only plant not frozen into the soil. Either it will die, or we will have a vintage year next year. Either way it will remain Molly's and my little secret.
Re: Shush, don't tell on me ;D ;D ;D Molly, you are a very lucky pup that your mum love you so much, and accepts your efforts at gardening!
Re: Shush, don't tell on me Tee Hee - I do the same with Charlie nicking the sprinklers for the the water irrigation system - he chews them so they don't work, but I stick them back on anyway so everything looks in order. Except I'm found out when they don't work. Charlie is a nightmare with it, and OH gets very cross. ;D ;D ;D
Re: Shush, don't tell on me I think I'm on my fourth watering can rose! Must be something about those and sprinklers.... Riley was very well behaved in the garden, Obi less so ;D
Re: Shush, don't tell on me Busted! Husband comes into my study. "Have you dropped a pot plant on the lawn, or something?" I mumble "yes", not technically a lie as I am replying to the "or something" part of the question. "Hmm, so it's something else you are in league with the dog about" Just then Molly wanders into the room. "You are regressing," he says to her while giving her chest a rub. I guess he's succumbed to her charms too. :
Re: Shush, don't tell on me He he!!! ;D ;D I've just returned from being out for a WHOLE 20 minutes........contents of handbag strewn across the kitchen floor, leads, woolly hats, gloves scattered on the stairs, but the piece de resistance was both my very muddy wellies all over the bed along with my empty handbag! : ;D :
Re: Shush, don't tell on me Lovely story Sam chewed holes in the pond filer hose when he was a youngster , I blamed Pauls friends dog who had been for a play date , hangs head in shame :

Re: Shush, don't tell on me ;D ;D ;D Fortunately I'm the gardener in our house, so my Molly's pruning activities only matter to me.
Re: Shush, don't tell on me ;D ;D I'm trying to decide if I am laughing more at the vine or the muddy wellies ;D ;D
