Went to the gym in black workout leggings. Came back, let puppies out of their crate before getting changed and showered. Bad move. I now have black workout leggings absolutely COVERED in white puppy hair. He is shedding terribly at the moment!! So, impulse eBay purchase of eight - yes, EIGHT - clothes rollers now made. I think I may have to place a standing order.

Re: HAIR! For the last many years we had 2 giant white/pale cream livestock gaurdians....and a mostly black lab looking dog! Oh the hair....The white is obviously much more obvious...but the black was equally troubling... In the past 18 months we are now down to 1 giant white dog...and now Bella....and let me tell you....chocolate hair is a dream in comparison!!! 8) 8) 8) 8)

Re: HAIR! I have a furminator thingummy. I used it on Shadow today and got handfuls out. Willow gave up about ten hairs. She's not shedding at all!
Re: HAIR! Dyson's definitely work on dogs! Mum uses it on her dog on a regular basis. He seems to treat it as a massage and always seems happy to let her.
Re: HAIR! Snowbunny, I know some people have other views but my day care people run a grooming business and have strongly advised me not to use a furminator as it strips the top layer out as well. It's not just a fine toothed comb, it has a blade effect (that's why it has a plastic protective cover) which cuts healthy hair as well as dragging out the dead hair. I was told to just use a fine toothed dog grooming comb. Yes, I know lots of you may disagree. 8)

The comb seems to be just full of undercoat (soft and downy texture) rather than top coat. He has a generally much finer coat than his sister; I don't know if that has anything to do with the difference in colour. I can definitely get a normal fine comb to see how they compare.

[/quote] Not at all, it's really good to hear reviews on things, I went for it as heard it was a good tool and reduces shedding by up to 90% ... If she starts getting bald patches I'll re think it! Mine came from America , so half the price of Uk
Re: HAIR! I only use ours every now and then. I would worry I'd take too much coat out otherwise. I've got a coat king for the spanner but that has blades too so will be used sparingly!

I've come to the conclusion that it's simply a fine toothed comb, because if it were cutting the top coat, it would be evident on Willow's brushing, because she moults so little. But the few hairs I get from her are definitely only fuzzy undercoat. Shadow continues to moult like a monster. My Scotch Brite rollers arrived yesterday. I had on a black top when I was grooming Shadow this morning and then used one to de-hair myself. At which point, Shadow jumped on me and covered me again. :
Re: HAIR! I have the sort of lint rollers which you can wash out. They are great! I have one in the car for work days - having a black and a yellow dog means no clothing is 'safe'!
