Hi guys, I am starting to get a bit stressed out by Bob literally following me around the house EVERYWHERE I go! I'm literally turning round and tripping over him. When he's not following me around, he's sitting there just staring at me. He'll be fast asleep, then I'll get up and he'll wake up suddenly and follow me where I go. I'm starting to feel a bit claustrophobic! My son is quite clingy too... and now I seem to have 2 of them! Lou x
Re: Following me all around lol get used to it Riley is 3 and a half and he always gets up when I do. I've given up trying to get him to chill in his bed and just appreciate I've always got a buddy whatever I'm doing even if it's getting logs in in the rain he'll still come with me
Re: Following me all around Aaah this caught me a little by surprise with Alfie as well. He wakes up the moment I get up and wants to go exactly where I'm going. We've nicknamed him "Alfie Underfoot" [among other things] because, as I keep saying to my family, if you can't see him, he's exactly where you plan to put your foot down. Sometimes if he's distracted with playing with someone else I can get away from him for a little, and I can wander away while he's eating. It's getting a little better. I can go upstairs without him crying insanely now, but he will still spring up the moment I move. I'm guessing it's just a fact of being 'mum' to a little bundle of fluff?
Re: Following me all around Yes, it's natural for them to stay close when they are little. Mine both loved to sleep on my feet, even 'tho plenty of much comfier day beds were available.
Re: Following me all around I have two lovely dogs following me around , I like to think its because we have a close bond but I have to admit that when they follow me into the kitchen , its more likely to be the chance of a food drop

Bob gets up when I go into the kitchen always! If he sees me put the kettle on, he'll know it's just for a cup of tea so will go back and lay down again LOL!
Re: Following me all around Alfie currently goes nuts when he hears the kettle because we use it to soften his food... Hopefully he will get out of this habit when we no longer have to do this! ;D
Re: Following me all around Izzy follows me all the time, and so does my old dog Archie, although he never used to, so maybes its the young and old that need the reassurance of our presence? Oh, and food!

[/quote] Bella has just started doing this at 15 weeks before she would sleep through, now she wants to know whats happening in the kitchen and if she's not getting anything, back in that living room she goes! Quite sweet really
Re: Following me all around i can so relate to this, my oldest lab who is nearly 4 follows me everywhere still ( unless my daughter is home, then he follows her! ) . Cant even go to the toilet without him getting up. My 18 week lab does the same. They are my little shadows, although it really doesnt bother me at all. I quite like the company when the kids are at school.
Re: Following me all around What a great thread. I was starting to worry about Milly as she does the same. She never stays down when I'm moving around. I was starting to worry that she just couldn't relax. But if I sit down she flops down near me and will be snoring in seconds but when I get up she's up in a flash. Lol always in the way but I love that she wants to be near me.

Re: Following me all around Inca is a follower too but I think most of the time it's because she thinks there might be a chance of fun or food. She also sleeps on my feet when I'm cooking, washing up and ironing. Makes the boring chores a bit better!
Re: Following me all around Indie does this as well, he could be snoring on his back completely out of it and if I move to go to the toilet he will wake up and follow. We don't let him upstairs yet so he ends up crying at the door till I come back in. cooking meals is interesting as he will sit, waiting and watching for something to be dropped or sit in the kitchen doorway staring at me! it ranges from really cute to trying not to step on him! I just call him my little shadow as he doesn't do it to Lee lol I'm obviously the favourite haha x

They know good things come out of the kitchen, so they spend a lot of time sitting there
Re: Following me all around You just described Rue! She is on top of us ALL THE TIME! We have been excited this week because around 10 or so each night, she has been going downstairs BY HERSELF to sleep in the one chair she's allowed in. That is huge for her as she can't stand to in a different room than us most of the time.
