I found this book quite by accident while researching the Wye Valley Walk. It describes fifteen dog walks, some of which have variations, around the Forest of Dean. http://holbornhouse.com/sammy-s-walks.html A useful table and area map help you to find the walks and determine their difficulty. Each walks is described with a map and narrative, and illustrated with pictures. The overall presentation is really very good. I particularly liked the look of walk 5: 1.5 to 2 hours finishing at a large pond called the dog dip! Normally I wouldn't buy books like this as its more fun to explore, but at £7.50 it works out at 50p per walk. That's really good value for a book that will help to get us started in this new area.
Re: Sammy's Walks: Dog Walks in the Forest of Dean Look forward to hopefully having some forum walks over there when you have sussed the walks out
Re: Sammy's Walks: Dog Walks in the Forest of Dean Couldn't resist! Have just bought the book! Thank you Phil, probably see you over there ...on walk 5! ;D

My son got this for me for Christmas, after me telling him what you had said about it. Can't wait until summers here and we can get to the Forest for these walks. Thanks Phil
