Any suggestions on a puppy food you have found to be good and ok for pups with delicate tums? Bella is currently on Royal Canin junior, but she often has sloppy and stinky poos and bad biscuit breath so I'm thinking of changing her to one that's perhaps less rich. I've heard of skinners, science plan, James well beloved. .... Any recommendations?? ;D
Re: Puppy food.... Skinners is the brand we use. We started with the puppy version and now at 11 months, Holly gets the junior version. She does very well on it and often gets comments about her coat condition and what are we feeding her. However, she's a Holly Hoover and not much of a delicte tum as far as we've seen so can't give comment on that area.
Re: Puppy food.... We fed our 2 on Burgess puppy, and they're now on the adult. Never had any problems with it. It's a cheaper food by most standards, and is often on offer online for around £13 for 15kg. Our dogs are happy and healthy on it. They don't have particularly sensitive stomachs though, so probably not very helpful for you with Bella. x
Re: Puppy food.... I've been doing lots of comparing on dog directory and although I got down to skinners and James well beloved due to sensitive tummies etc and JWB is a bit more expensive.... I think I might try it : Especially as you can get a fish flavour as skinners is just lamb and rice for a puppy. Im shocked that Royal Canin got such a low rating 2.2 out of 5!!!
Re: Puppy food.... Hi Claudia, hope you are well and rested after your course? Izzy is on James Wellbeloved and doing well. Her coat is shiny and poos are hard and regular. Occasional runny poo if ive given her a treat she maybe shouldnt have( i gave her one of Archies Bonios and it was a bit runny). I did use the pro fibre stuff for awhile, when she used to be soft poos, and i think that helped, but i phased it out and shes still fine. Pets at home is about £9.50 although they occasionally have specials. Some online stores have it a bit cheaper. Oh and its puppy food not junior.

[/quote] Hello, yes am good thanks, course was really good, but was glad to get back to see Bella ;D I bought a mini bag of the James Well beloved, fish and rice, so will gradually start introducing it to her current biscuits. I've got a 15kg bag of Royal Canin to get rid of now!!!!! . How's Izzy doing?

Re: Puppy food.... You may find she still has a runny bum whilst u change over, but then she should be fine. Hows your toilet training going? Izzy still isnt perfect, but a lot better than when i mentioned it a couple of weeks ago. Im still suprised that she needs to wee nearly every hour or so though. I thought she would be able to hold it by now. Apart from that shes good. I feel guilty having to work though, i feel she doesnt get the attention she needs, especially as the weather has been so bad. Im looking forward to spring when we can get out more.

She needs to go out every hour unless she's asleep, had quite a few accidents whilst I was away as she was playing with Rosie and getting so excited so a few steps backwards but we are back on it now! My parents had to take Bella to the vets as she started with itchy ears again so she's got drops and the vet said not to worry re still having toilet accidents as she's a baby and needs to be out every hour at least still.

[/quote] That's good to hear, Wendy. Don't feel too guilty about having to go out. I'm in the house all day and I genuinely think Bonnie gets a bit fed up with me! We would worry one way or another, no matter what!
