How can I tell if Juno is in pain with her leg as she doesn't make a fuss? Ever since she came to live with us at 10 weeks she has barked only twice, cried the first night as we left her in her crate in the kitchen (at which point we took her and the crate upstairs to the bedroom and had a peaceful night), and only asks to go out for a wee by sitting by the door and looking at us. She is very quiet this morning and seems happy to just curl up in her crate. Will be so glad to get the appointment with the specialist over with tomorrow.
Re: In pain? Dogs do hide pain very well, so I'd say the best way is by assessing their demeanour. If she's quiet and not interacting with you like she normally does, that's probably an indication that she's out of sorts. I hope you get answers soon.
Re: In pain? Very difficult to judge I`m afraid, my boy had a flare up of pancreatitis a few months ago but hid it very well although it must have been painful . I tend to think that on the whole, they are programmed to behave in a certain way which carries on even well they aren't feeling great . I only notice if either of them are quiet and not quite so enthusiastic on walks , good luck with her x
