I think that's a dizzy height I'll only be able to dream of. Still working on the stick aversion though - a work in progress as they say.
Will the stick aversion cause a problem with being a peg dog? Or will she not be tethered? Hopefully you'll have got it sorted by then anyway... And well done SBD on the training front!
As I've taken up a gun slot on my shoot, my son, Will, has come along to the last two outings to help me handle Lady. He's really enjoyed it and Lady also seems to respond to his commands so yesterday I had a quick quiet word with the keeper and he threw Will into the deep end doing front line picking up. I was only able to watch her in action for one retrieve, but it felt really good seeing her do her stuff. A runner came down a little way behind me and it was great to see that she'd marked it and ran straight as a die when Will released her. She had about 150 yards to run and cut the bird off before it ran for the wood. There was brief dance as it tried to dodge then she had it went straight back to Will. Phew! Thought she might present me with it. Very pleased with her and that she's not a one man dog either.
She's not brilliant, but she does ok and she's mine and I'm proud of her. There was one other Lab there. A choccy and he was red hot - just to put the myth about chocolate Labs to bed!
