As my daughter is going to be staying in Plymouth for 2 months, I would like to book a long weekend away to go and see her and I want to take Harley. Any recommendations for places? Thanks
Re: Recommendations for Plymouth This place is great Ternaya www.whitsandbayhotel.co.uk Its about a 20 mins drive from Plymouth, actually in south east Cornwall . My sister and husband often stay there and we have often joined them for dinner, dogs are very welcome indeed , the beach is 2 mins walk and they often run special offers
Re: Recommendations for Plymouth Thanks Kate it looks fab. When we have dates for my daughter I will be booking this hotel
Re: Recommendations for Plymouth Its like stepping back in time , very old fashioned whilst being quite grand but lovely rooms, wonderful service and fab food , the owner has a Lab who frequents the bar on a regular basis
Re: Recommendations for Plymouth That looks like a lovely hotel! Just around the corner from where I kept my boat. That (whitsand) beach is fabulous, really fabulous but the access to it is dreadful, unfortunately, very steep. Apart from in one place but it's almost impossible to park. That said, if you do get down to it with a dog you can have 3 miles of sand practically to yourself....
Re: Recommendations for Plymouth Although....maybe the hotel has good beach access....in which case, it would be worth staying there for that alone!
Re: Recommendations for Plymouth The hotel is actually at Portwrinkle, just along from Whitsand Bay , fairly easy access to the beach there, unlike Whitsand Bay itself which is mountain goat country
Re: Recommendations for Plymouth Oh, ok. Well, I'm sure it's lovely, looks great.
unlike Whitsand Bay itself which is mountain goat country
I keep hoping to find an easy way down to Whitsand beach....with parking at the top and that no-one else knows about....no luck so far. ;D ;D ;D
Re: Recommendations for Plymouth That looks fabulous. My folks lived in Torpoint when i went to Uni in Dundee. I loved "going home" to visit. I would really love to go back but its such a long way from Fife. Sigh..... hotel sounds perfect.
