I am constantly amazed by the power of the stop whistle for Hattie. Last week I did a very big walk and came through into a very small field where in the corner were a herd of Deer that Hattie had spotted and I hadn't, she started to chase I blew a loud stop whistle she applied her brakes instantly and I recalled her whilst the Deer were running across the field, she sat infront of me for lots of treats and didn't attempt to leave from a sit and they were still in her view. The Deer stopped and I counted 25, so I am pleased that in that highly stimulating and exciting environment she reacted as I wanted her to. Of course I'm not saying it's 100% that way : xx
Re: Power of the Stop Whistle Well done Hattie I rarely use my whistle as Harley doesn't wander far, but when I do her response is really quick

[/quote] Gotta love Fenton, I saw the You Tube clip the other day again.. it was hysterical ! But well done Hattie... you have set the bar high there girl!
Re: Power of the Stop Whistle Good work, Hattie - and Helen! My stop whistle is coming along nicely, but I know without a shadow of doubt that it wouldn't yet work on a herd of deer!
Re: Power of the Stop Whistle Hattie is certainly a natural. Imagine the temptation of those deer but she stopped for your whistle she's brilliant. ;D
Re: Power of the Stop Whistle Oh blimey, well done Helen,Hattie is a lovely dog x Charlie is too but you know Charlie is a law unto himself
