    Oh Lynne,

Don't be downhearted at all you have done brilliantly and from quickly reading through this thread from yesterday you sound much happier and positive today. You will find some doggie pals to practice and play with, especially with that lovely area just outside your garden.we aren't supposed to have dogs off the lead in our park ( a main reason together with the weather that we have to do early and late walks) but I've met several owners who have just stopped to talk to me that have said shall we let them off and play ?so you will too.Dexter doesn't come back to me on recall then ever......however he doesn't leg it off miles away either......!he just naturally checks in on me But i need to get confidence in it by tightening up on it now for it to be consistent,it's vital when he should be on a lead.I've got the whole recall training book now ,I was working with Grade One Retriever Training before so I can really focus.

Jasper look really big in the photo......hes growing up,is it friday he has his op?

I'm going to start a thread asking about castration ,I'm interested to ask those of that you have, why you have...I've been reading up as much as I could find while I was away
Bye for now, loads of your news to catch up on x

i am proud today kate :) i just saw myself as a failure yesterday, as pippa said some training is better than none, i know he is only a baby, he will mature into a lovely adult dog, :)
i don't ever want him to be in any danger, ..........he is doing ever so well for just 6 month old...i had nothing to compare with never having a dog before, .......instead of negativity i have got to start looking positive :) new day new start

I am kicking myself for not asking the nice dog owners with the Labrador if Amy could play off lead with him. I know them from kids play groups so will keep my eye out for them. If Amy wouldn't recall I know he would have! Wish i was more confident to ask people.

What an immaculately behaved dog you have there Lynne. Sat beautifully, focused on you - brilliant :)

I know what you mean about asking other people with dogs for help. I think the first six months we had Riley I didn't say more than morning or afternoon to anyone else. Now I'll chat away to anyone with a dog :D I guess like all things it gets easier with practice

wow what a good boy jasper is. lynne you are doing brilliantly, i'm a first time dog owner too, and have two young uns on the go so i know how much work u are putting in with jasper, he is a credit to u... hes only a baby still but he is doing so well....i think there will b days when we tear our hair out with the training but it will all work out....i know what u mean about not wanting him to b in danger thats my driving motivation behind a lot of my training, they r too precious! and he looks as ever so handsome in that picture!
