    Hello

So Bella has her last wee and poop at 10pm and during the week I get her up at 7am and she wees and poops again, so a 9 hr stretch. Today, I woke at 7.45am and as she hadn't woke me, I bounded up stairs to her laying in her crate quite happy ;D then I let her out for wees and poops.

I'm just wondering how long is considered 'safe' ie to not cause any bladder issues for a 6 month old pup, she's ok around 9 hours and could she be left longer or is it best to keep it to that time ( I'm thinking mainly weekends , but happy to get up let her out and go back to bed again) she's happy ( now!!) to have her breakfast and play/ sleep in the kitchen whilst I have another few hours kip.

How long do your pups go without needing a wee during the night? ( during the day she goes every 2-3.5 hrs).

    Thanks ;D

    My Tatze is a camel.

She has her last wee at 10pm, gets up at 7:30am but doesn't wee or poo 'till after breakfast (about 8:00am) She has been doing this since she was five months old. Then she only wees about 3 times after that during the day.

Gypsy is nearly 11 months now and has a wee about every two hours. At night she goes from 10pm to 7:30am so that's nine and a half hours, she too has had this routing from 5 months old.

Phoebe is also 6 months and has a last wee at 10pm. I still get up at 7am (which doesn't go down well with the husband!) as I feel guilty for leaving her too long!!! She really doesn't need a wee at that time and I'm sure could go longer now. And never cries for one. Sometimes when I let her out at 7:00 she just looks at me and clearly isn't desperate. Much more desperate for her breakfast!!!
One of these days I will treat myself to a lie in ......

Juno, now nearly 10months old has her last wee at around 11:00 and then goes round to around 8:00 when my husband gets up, or like his morning 8:30 as I'm here by myself and slept a bit later than normal. She then goes to around 12:00 before she wees again, then around 4:00 and then after dinner so around 7:00. She normally sees more of we're out for a walk, out training in the garden but we on rest at the moment not so many trips out for wees. Juno's routine has been pretty much the same since she was around 4 months

Harley also has a bladder like a camel. Last night we went to bed at 11pm - she had a wee just before we went up. We didn't wake up until 10.20am and even then she wanted breakfast first! Since she was 4/5 months old her last wee is around 10.30/11pm, up weekdays around 7.30/8am, weekends up between 8am and 11am, depends how tired she is

Charlie won't ask to go out until he is bursting - it's just the way he is, and I do worry a bit that dogs get conditioned to having their opportunity to toilet limited. He won't go if he is too excited by something happening in the house, or waiting for food, but I don't take this as meaning he doesn't need to, just that other desires are stronger (like a dog can stand pain and discomfort pulling on a lead, for example, in order to get something they want).

So it's 8 hours overnight, and 3 to 4 during the day before he gets the chance to go to the loo and I don't like to leave it longer than that.

Sam has always had great control, has to be prised from his bed at night to go out for the last one . Millie is the opposite , hates getting up in the mornings and will hang on until the last minute if allowed , both have long walks and the run of the garden all day in suitable weather so numerous tiddles done during the day ;)

Thanks interesting to read all your replies, I'll stick with 9.5 hours max as don't want her to have to cry to be let out of crate, she lets me go back to bed for 2 hours now aswell on weekends . I thought that day would NEVER come when I was drinking coffee at 6 am ;D
