Re: At the end of my tether... Ah, yes, I can see evidence of that sort of behaviour emerging here too! Well, if it works I'm happy to treat away!!
Re: At the end of my tether... Maisie doesn't eat poo but when she was younger she often picked stuff up and then looked at me like "hey, you gonna ask me to spit this out?". I think her reasoning was: if I'm not asked to spit it out, I get to eat this rock/garbage/stick/whatever off the ground, that's great, and if I'm asked to spit it out, I get a treat to eat, that's great too!!! Win win!!! She would also sometimes pick something up, look at me, and then spit it out without being asked and then wait expectantly for a treat… :
Re: At the end of my tether... I think our girls are just to clever at working out how to get a treat from us ;D
Re: At the end of my tether... Well I'm absolutely sure you're right. As of today we're down poo 80% / up chicken 120% !!! I hope Allie comes back and sees there's light. I was honestly fed up of this but now I'm so much happier. Oh, can't remember if I mentioned this but I left poo in the garden to practise "leave it". Not nice I know but it did give us a controlled environment in which to practise

Not nice I know but it did give us a controlled environment in which to practise [/quote] Great improvement ;D It's quite amazing that with a little perseverance and consistency how quickly they lose interest. I never thought of leaving a poo in the garden for training purposes but funnily enough Juno has never been interested in going near her own let alone picking it up. That's definitely a job for me with my poo bag! ;D
Re: At the end of my tether... And, today, we're down to just one attempted poo heist. 8) Which means I have no excuse for not picking them all up from the garden now, doesn't it. Ugh! ??? Wish me luck - I'm going in......
Re: At the end of my tether... And the Good News is............you have reached the stage where the amount of food required is dropping. Less in the top end, less out the bottom end
Re: At the end of my tether... FANTASTIC! Huge progress in such a short time but don't let your vigilance drop just yet, they love to give you a false sense of security 8). Expect a few occasions where Bonnie "forgets" her training - have to do something to get the super treats! Well done to you and Bonnie. ;D
