This is a strange one. Monty has a crate in the back of my car. It is identical to his "bedroom" in the house. He is absolutely fine with both crates. In fact, he might be a bit too fine with the car crate. ??? It's a big car, so he needs a lift into the back. As soon as he's up, he heads straight into the crate, curls up and settles down. And goes to sleep. I've got him used to doing long journeys with me and maybe he assumes each time will be a long one? Anyway, we arrive at our destination. It could be the funnest, bestest place in the world full of sausages, squeeky toys and other puppies to play with, but he just can't seem to be bothered to get out. He'll stay all curled up, yummy and warm in the crate! I have to coax him out, and often revert to having to drag him, while he is still trying to pretend to be asleep! Once he's out, he's totally normal (well as normal as a Springer can be!) What's going on? And how do I resolve?
Re: The car-crate is just soooo comfortable...?? Awwww, cute! Seems like a lot of people might be thinking 'I'd love to have his problem!' ;D Is there a favourite toy or special edible treat which can lure him out? Does he seem scared of coming out at all, or just too comfy? (By the way, I think we need a pic of this!)

Just popped out with Monts to meet my wife in the park for lunch. It's a 20min drive. This is how I find him on my return: (yes, I know the puppy crate is getting small now and am in the process of getting a nice one for the car)
Re: The car-crate is just soooo comfortable...?? Cute!! I wish my spaniel did that. Whenever there's a hint of getting out he's up on his toes ready to go! Of course once I open the door he sometimes decides he doesn't want to come out to lull me into a false sense of security at which point he launches himself through the door and I have to catch him before he jumps down : : : spaniels !!! : : :

Re: The car-crate is just soooo comfortable...?? Charlie is a bit like this on long drives. At the end of a long drive, he is just tooooooo comfy to move, thanks all the same - he just bangs his tail to say hello and rolls on his back for a tummy rub. Not on shorter drives though, that he has learned end in a WALK. ;D ;D ;D
Re: The car-crate is just soooo comfortable...?? I'm not sure James......i think he looks overstressed.....
Re: The car-crate is just soooo comfortable...?? That's hilarious ;D ;D ;D A contender for the 'least anxious dog in the world'
Re: The car-crate is just soooo comfortable...?? Nope, he looks traumatised. I'm going to pass him the number for DogLine.
Re: The car-crate is just soooo comfortable...?? Poor Monty....He obviously needs his beauty sleep!!! ;D ;D ;D
