So both my boys are injured :(

Riley has split his nail so it's off to the vets in the morning. I've bathed it in dilute hibiscrub and left it to get some air. You'd think I'd cut his foot off poor love.

Obi has a juvenile histiocytoma which has got caught when the dogs were wrestling and in cleaning it it's come up pretty raw. So I've left that open to the air too.

    :( :( :(

    Oh no! Poor boys.

Gentle hugs and licks to both...hope everything cleans up.

How did Riley hurt his paw? I can imagine that a split nail hurts. :(

No idea, just out for a mooch up the lane and look back to see him limping towards me :( he certainly squeaked when I touched it.

I am sorry but they both will get better; rotten for both of them at the moment x

Yup they will, just a bit grim for them (and probably dull for a bit too)

Obi's histiocytoma looks dry and clean this morning and we've just popped to the vets with Riley and we decided to trim the nail right back and see if it grows out. Chilled out walks for a few days, some metacam and crossed fingers that it just grows out :)

Hope Riley is back on full form soon Barbara , Sam had his nail taken right out as it was too damaged to save , keeping the site clean is not easy , his nail grew back fairly quickly so I`m sure Riley wont be nail less for long :)

Willow sympathises with the split nail especially. Her missing nail is healing nicely and she even let me hold the paw to trim her nails a few minutes ago (with a little help from a pouch of fishy goodness!). It still bleeds on occasion during walks, but she's doing a good job of keeping it nice and clean.
