So Gibbs seems bored of his food. He is hungry but hasn't eaten dinner last night or breakfast this morning.

The breeder weaned him onto Alpha which we do plan to move him away from and onto James Wellbeloved and I know that if I give him a sachet of wet JWB he will gobble it up. But I don't want him to think that he will get something nicer if he rejects his meal.

Do I try him on something different? I have a bag of JWB which I was planning to mix in with the Alpha stuff to switch him gradually but he now hasn't had a proper meal since yesterday early afternoon.

Gibbs seems fine, weeing, pooing and as bouncy as usu

We had the same issue. Monty would eat but really really eat. He never seemed to enjoy it much.

We stuck with it (the dry food the breeder had him on [Hills Science Plan]) for a while since changing food can upset their tummies, but after a few weeks we switched to raw and the difference was amazing. He loves dinner time now and gets very excited and gobbles his food down.

I wouldn't change food too early, unless you notice him actually losing weight. I'm sure he's fine, since he's normal in himself, but the food just isn't that nice.

Personally I think that dogs should be allowed to have food they enjoy and that we shouldn't continue to serve up what they don't enjoy. So, I'd change food :) The recommendation is to do it gradually and that is no doubt best. Just start adding in the new food and gradually switch the proportions over the course of a week.

I was told off by the vet for gradually introducing the raw with the kibble. But I think that is specific to raw feeding in that it's digested quicker than the kibble or something?

I did feel quite sorry for Monty when he was on the kibble and clearly didn't like it.

There's an idea that you shouldn't feed raw and kibble together. There is, however, no scientific evidence that supports this and it seems completely ludicrous to me. Does that mean that a kibble-fed dog should never have any raw meat? Nuts. Mine are fed part kibble, part raw and do absolutely fine.

Have you tried soaking it in water first so it's more gravy like?

Often new pups do go off their food as they have been used to being in competition with their litter mates. Though not eating can be a sign of illness, however, you say your pup seems well. You could try to add some of the JWB see if that makes him keen.
