The woods where we walk with Pongo at this time of year are carpeted with wild garlic. He runs about madly in it. When he comes in, his feet always smell strongly (and rather deliciously) of fresh garlic - they must be coated in the juices from the plants.

Now, I know that onions and garlic are toxic to dogs, especially in regular doses. Should I worry about Pongo picking up garlic on his feet? He never licks it, but presumably it could be getting into his bloodstream through his pads...

We walked Cocoa through wild garlic woods all her life without incident. I wouldn't worry unless Pongo starts eating the garlic.

I wouldn't be unduly worried either , if any is absorbed, it will be a very tiny amount indeed , hardly enough to affect a Labrador .

We have tons of it too.
    Wouldn't expect problems.
