Sorry if this has been done to death, but Gibbs is due his second round of jabs next Thursday and according to the vets I then have to wait another two weeks before being able to take him out on a walk, is that right? I can't just want 24 hours or so?
Re: How long before going out for a walk after second round of vaccinations? I've never heard two weeks before! I've heard some vets recommending a week. Mine said two days. I assume a lot of it depends on the prevalence of parvovirus in your locality.
Re: How long before going out for a walk after second round of vaccinations? Hi Kate600 Ziva had first injection at 7weeks and 2 days on the 7th April she is booked in next Monday 27th for her 2nd at 10 weeks and 1 day and I'M allowed to take her out the following Monday 4th May Marie & Ziva x

And Ember's just had her second set this morning - and we've been told to wait a week - even though she's having another Lepto in 4 weeks as the original set she got gave her Lepto 2 whereas our Vet likes to give Lepto 2. We've been told to avoid places with sewers/ farms in order to limit contact with rat wee. Its a bit confusing!

Re: How long before going out for a walk after second round of vaccinations? I should think it varies with the type and brand of vaccine, how many vaccines are given, and the risks in the local area. I'd ask your vet and follow that advice.

Re: How long before going out for a walk after second round of vaccinations? I took Sam out 24 hours after his second ones , due to the timing of his vacs and the fact that there were no recorded nasties in our area at the time .

Re: How long before going out for a walk after second round of vaccinations? Well, my Gypsy had 3 vaccinations, the final one at 16 weeks! She wasn't allowed in doggy areas until 17 weeks. Beat that But she was fine and is very, very well socialised now - so I wouldn't worry
