So happy that it's going so well with Spero - it's not going to be a walk in the park with an older dog that has had no training, and I think you are doing fabulously well. Best of luck meeting Benson and Casper, I hope it goes well!

Sorry to hear about Dexter and Spero though, hopefully just a one off.

    What lovely photos! :) :)
We may just try Benson later in the paddock, so that one of us can video and observe Speros body language. Initially we will keep lots of distance between all three dogs until they are calm then see how it goes. Fairly neutral and completely enclosed paddock so he can't get out :)
We can do as many sessions as you want over the next days/weeks, and introduce Casper properly a bit later, might be a bit too much for both of them having 2 reactive dogs barrelling towards each other!I

Think hubby is around a fair bit over the next few weeks if you need help. (explain later.. :()Plus we also have the big fields and I need to show you the ones across the road where I have only once spotted another dog! :)

What a beautiful sit :) They make a lovely pair.

I'm sure that Spero will improve in time with other dogs. Setting up positive, low pressure, low key experiences is definitely the way to go.

Hoping all goes well today Ternaya , the sit video is just lovely . Re other dogs , it will come right with time , Millie was the same when we first had her , she feared other dogs so would growl but slowly with gentle socialisation , she has come right , just take baby steps with him x

Sounds as if you're doing brilliantly. Good to hear that Harley and Spero are starting to feel more comfortable together. Hope it goes well when he meets Benson.

    Re: Tomorrow

Spero just gave us the biggest heart attack ever. Hubby came home from work and somehow Spero got past him and ran.....and ran, and ran.....out of our cul de sac, straight out onto the dual carriage way. Hubby ran after him and tried to coax him back. Luckily the cars all stopped and put their hazards on to stop anyone coming up the road. I got my neighbour to go help as I can't run.......luckily Spero ran down a side road - if he carried on in the direction he was going he would of ended up on the M5!!....after 10 minutes they managed to corner him in someone's garden. I was in tears, hubby was shaking with worry and Spero acted as if everything was ok ....... I know he doesn't understand, but my god, my heart went.
He is safely home and we have decided to use the back door to come in for a while to stop this happening again

    Phew!

Thank goodness all is well, hope you all recover soon!

It takes a while to get over the 'what might have been' shock. I had an incident where I didn't clip Gypsy's lead on properly, she jumped out of the car - I thought her lead was on, it wasn't - and she zoomed straight across the road. Cars go fast down there, she wouldn't have stood a chance if one had been coming. I double, double check now.

How awful for you and the sort of experience we all dread. On the positive Spero was not distressed by the events, being chased and cornered etc Now time for you to sit down and recover, You've made such great progress with Spero in such a short time .
