Sorry but I am shocked to read this , a 3 or 4 week old puppy should never be taken from its Mother , the whole ethos of this forum is based on the welfare of dogs and as such , we could never agree with so young a puppy leaving its Mother, this is very sad indeed .

Hey, punky, you are doing great! Please don't think that anyone on the forum is criticising you - we can all see how much you love that little bundle of fluff. We just can't help commenting when something worries us a bit, and it's true that separating a pup from its mum before 8 weeks can often cause a few issues (even if not everyone knows that that's the case).

Your lovely puppy will grow up into a beautiful girl - and maybe it will help to know that if she does have any issues (perhaps a bit more biting in the puppy stage?) that there is a possible reason for it. You'll be able to look after her all the better for knowing it. There are people on this forum can help with advice on just about everything.... and there are also lots of people (like me!) who don't know very much but who can offer sympathy and reassurance when things go wrong....because we've all been there!

Hope you're having a great time with your little girl.

While this a welcoming and supportive forum for all kinds of dogs we do work within a certain ethos and that is putting the dogs and their welfare at the forefront of the discussions and advice here.

We welcome all sorts of dogs and owners doing all sorts of things with them from the best friends we all know they can be to some elite competition dogs and everything in between.

I would ask everyone to be mindful of the labrador site and forum rules as regards underage puppies which can be found here:

    http://www.thelabradorforum.com/index.php?topic=5857.0

We want to provide help to owners and dogs everywhere but we cannot endorse the removal of puppies from their mothers early.

Just to add , be careful with munch bones at her age they usually advise pups are at least 4 months before they are given those. Rice bones are great for puppies younger and safer ( still when supervised of course).
