I've always been against dogs on the bed.

Since we've been travelling, it's not been as easy to keep the dogs out of our room (especially when staying in a one-room hotel - unless I was going to put them in the bathroom overnight!).

Night one, we were at my sister's house with them in our room, because of Shadow and Bo not getting on. Willow spent the floor on her vet bed. Shadow spent the night pushing us out of bed.

Night two, we were in South Gloucestershire at a B&B with a HUGE bed. Willow spent the night on my feet. Shadow spent the night pushing us out of bed. At one point, J was falling out one side of the bed with a sliver of duvet and I was the mirror image on the other side. Shadow was comfy, though, so that's all that matters.... ::)

We're now up in Liverpool and staying in a little apartment room. The dogs were firmly locked out of the bedroom last night!

Another ten days of travelling around, and I'm pretty certain that I'm not going to be changing our sleeping arrangements at home any time soon! ;D

Our two are allowed on the bed - it stems from Tarka having dreadful separation anxiety as a puppy before Lochan arrived. Lochan curls up neatly at the bottom of the bed in between us and doesn't move all night. She might occasionally lick a stray foot that sticks out of the duvet. Tarka doesn't start on the bed at all. She sleeps in a basket in our room but around 5am decides she is cold and gets on the bed in between us, lies as close as possible to her chosen victim and shoves the other person out with her paws. Just as well it is a king-size bed.....

It's a fundamental law of the universe that no matter how big the bed the dog ends up commandeering 97% of it with the remaining 3% divided between the humans.

Three percent? Lucky you. What's the trick?

I don't mind dogs on the bed as long as it is not mine.

We haven't been away with Juno yet but with our Spinone we had a mixed experience. On one holiday he climbed up on to the bed once the lights were out and slept at the bottom of the bed - he was in the bedroom with us as he was going through the chewy stage :(. Our next holiday he slept in the kitchen with no problems and the last time we took him away he wouldn't settle outside our bedroom door so he was allowed in but after climbing on the bed once, and being ejected, he slept along my side of the bed. Made it a bit tricky getting out of bed though! After each of the trips he converted back to sleeping in the kitchen with no problems :)

Charlie lets me sleep in the spare room, so I can have a bed. He usually lets me back on the main bed in the early mornings for a pack cuddle. He's good like that.

Hmmmm. I let both of mine on the bed. They both start off on the bed with me and its all quite civilised with me in the middle of the bed with plenty of room, and them curled up on either side. Then I fall asleep and there seems to be some arrangement between them where someone gets off and goes into the dog bed on the floor next to my bed and stays there till about 3am, then there is a swap. When Cuilli is on the bed with me its generally fine, she likes to curl in the crook of my legs and is quite little and compact. When Brods is on its a very different story. He's only 28 kilos but is a really big lad, seems like the length/height of a small pony, and to make things worse he likes to be spooned so he will snuggle himself firmly into my body curve, preferred position being with his head on my inside shoulder....if I sneakily move away from him he grumbles in his sleep, then with out seeming to wake up slithers over to me again and resumes the Firm Spoonage position...bless him he's such a sweety but I end up sleeping at really odd angles when he is up on the bed normally ending up dangling off the edge with no duvet....

Molly is happy to have her own bed downstairs - she doesn't know how I put up with all the b****y snoring.

Harley sleeps on our bed and has done since she was 4 months old. She starts off curled up at the bottom of the bed, slowly makes her way up in between us through the night, usually cuddles into me and tries to push hubby out of the bed by stretching her legs out . He usually ends up hanging out if the bed.....its a king size bed too .
I love it when I wake up and Harley has her head on me, or her legs and paws over me

He only does it at night, when he is awakend from a deep slumber, and I need to move him over xx

    Haha!

My lovely Boogie used to share our bed, but I couldn't do it now - I'm a really light sleeper and need my beauty sleep!

Mine are allowed on the bed if they want but they also have their beds in our bedroom & sleep mainly there. As Ellie is so little she sleeps in a soft cage but I'm sure she'll be jumping up the bed as soon as toiled training is mastered.

Recognising the inevitable, we bought a bigger bed when we moved house.

I've been inclined to share my bed with a dog since I was a child. I grew up with a great dane sleeping on my twin size bed....and when she died, two cats claimed her space.
As a married adult I've had any number of cats, 3 heelers, an Anatolian, an 85 pound lab mix, and now Bella. We have a queen size bed ::) Bella started out teeny tiny 7 weeks old on my pillow, but now she varies her pattern with smack dab between us, curled up at the foot of the bed, slithered up the outside of either of us, and some combination of all. ;D

Molly sleeps downstairs. She likes the peace and quiet. She doesn't know how I put up with OH's snoring.

My Molly comes on the bed while I read for half an hour and then I make her get off and go in her own bed in the same room - I tried having her on the bed but she stretches right out and it was too uncomfortable. She sometimes has a little grumble about having to get off, but once in her own bed stays there all night. She doesn't wake me in the mornings - I have to wake her!
