We have now officially finished with our 6-8 weeks of restricted exercise following Juno's surgery ;D At times I never thought we would get to the end but the time has gone very quickly with visits to vets, hydrotherapy appointments - each one getting us one step closer. So to celebrate our momentous date - well strictly speaking it was yesterday but we were on rest after hydro - Juno has been in the garden off lead and has had a little run around for fun and some light training on recall (weren't sure if we had a recall still !) and some retrieves with her Kong Airball and Kong Air Dumbell. Due to her ongoing exercise restrictions I put her in a sit/stay while I placed the toys and then sent her out to collect. She was such a good girl and went and found the toys and brought them back with no problems. Well the delivery wasn't the best or as good as pre-op but improved, but I really didn't care as today is day 1 of playing in the garden and even the rain couldn't stop us enjoying ourselves ;D ;D Juno's now having a pre-lunch snooze to recover from the excitement
Re: Light at the end of the tunnel..... Aw, bless. Good for you and long may you be free to enjoy yourselves
Re: Light at the end of the tunnel..... That's wonderful. Must be so lovely to see her enjoy herself in the garden off-lead
Re: Light at the end of the tunnel.....
That's wonderful. Must be so lovely to see her enjoy herself in the garden off-lead
Don't think I've stopped smiling yet ;D we've still got our longer walk to look forward to this afternoon so I'm crossing everything at the moment that there's no reaction to the different exercise but seeing what's she like at hydro trying not to worry too much although looking for limps is now second nature )
Re: Light at the end of the tunnel..... That's great news. Hope all goes well on your walk this afternoon
Re: Light at the end of the tunnel..... Oh, congratulations! Take it easy Juno... Little tears in my eyes here! 8) 8) 8)
Re: Light at the end of the tunnel..... We had a lovely walk this afternoon, a whole 15 minutes ;D We met a whole cycle club on our walk, so cyclists are no longer exciting (again) and Juno enjoyed the extra treats for sitting at the side of the path while they passed usually in twos but separated by a 100 to 150 metres. Juno also walked passed an elderly couple on just a loose lead with only a turn of the head as they went past us so I'm really pleased with my little girl as I had thought we might need some training lessons to get us back to our previous standard. Juno is now completely zonked on my feet after all today's excitement. ;D
