Amber was spayed last Monday and is recovering well. She seems to be experiencing irritation from her areas of shaved skin both on her leg and tummy. The skin is not red but she is doing a lot of licking and scratching. She is leaving the wound itself alone.

Has anyone any suggestions of anything I could put on to sooth the skin.

Poor girl, sounds like shaving rash - if you pop back into the vet they can give you a cream for that which clears it up in no time.

Yup, if it's not infected Sudocrem usually helps quickly. If it's infected it will look spotty.

Thanks for the feedback. There is no visible rash. I will give Sudocrem a try.
