Yesterday on Charlie's group walk with his new bezzies, he spotted a Pheasant that the "working" Labradors completely missed, needless to say Charlie was very excitied and pinged a on lead, one of Tim and Karen's daughters was walking and chatting with David as this was happenening, when out of the blue Millie the 15 year old Staffie ran towards Charlie and clamped her jaws round Charlie's front leg and wouldn't let go, thankfully she doesn't have a full set of teeth Tim ran back and had to literally prize her jaws off Charlie's leg and he didn't bat an eye lid, he walked next to Millie all the way home as if nothing had happened - bless that boy!! We can only conclude that Millie thought something was happening to Tim's daughter and she was protecting her. xx
Wow, that is strange . Hope Charlie's leg is ok? He must really like her to walk home calmly with her
Charlie's fine, it's just lucky that Millie hasn't got very many teeth left as she is so old so no harm was done, thankfully. xx
Blimey, glad she's a bit gummy now so Charlie wasn't hurt ...sounds like it still took a fair bit of strength to release him though.wonder if she was a bit riled up because there was wildlife around ?glad he was ok Helen x
Thanks for your concern, I have since spoken to Karen and apparently if any dog barks around her dogs Mille attacks them Charlie was barking at the Pheasant so he copped it, and as you quite rightly said Angela, it's a bloomin' good job she is gummy or he could have been hurt. Charlie was calm and I wonder if it's because she is a very old dog and there's a certain amount of respect from Charlie, is that possible? Anyway Charlie is fine and really gets on so well with Millie so hopefully just a one off, he will just have to keep his trap shut in future xx
