Does anyone else's black puppy have a few white hairs sprinkled about? Maisie has one on her head, a little patch (not enough to be white on her tail, but just a patch of sprinkled white hairs) on her tail, and maybe another 10 sprinkled throughout her body. She's only 7 months old… why does she have white hair already? She is a registered purebred and totally black otherwise!

We have had a single white hair on the right eyebrow since a pup..
And just this week noticed a little tuft appearing on a leg.
Mind you, we are growing some grey hairs on the old chinny chin chin too.

I am sure Rachael has mentioned before about the breed standard allowing a white patch on the chest.

My Shelby has few white hair - I usually take them out before shows but the grow back quite quickly.
My yellow Barney has one black hair on his left side.

I chose my younger dog because he had white stripes on the back of his forepaws. My other Lab had the odd white hair on his body and now that he is 9, apart from being grey in the face, he has a lot of long white hairs on his inner thighs. I believe the white on the paws goes back to a famous dog in the 20's called Banchory Bolo. Although our dogs are purebred, we can never be sure what was in the breed years ago, the odd dog may have got in first!

Willow has a couple of white hairs between her pads on her feet. I'm not sure if they count as bolo spots!
