Hello all! I'm a brand new lab puppy parent to little Dooley who came home Saturday at 7.5 weeks old. He's a doll baby, but BUSY. Goodness, I had forgotten just how much work a little one can be, whether it's a toddler or a puppy (is there much difference really?)

We had a lovely lab mix who died in March after 11.5 years so this is our first puppy in many years. Hopeful that we make it through the baby stage, and grateful he's so cute cause it sure makes up for the mischief!

    Glad to meet you all

Hello there and welcome to the forum! We can't see your picture - you have to upload it to a file-sharing website such as Flickr, Photobucket, Dropbox or Imgur and then post the IMG link in here.

I hear the difference between puppies and toddlers is that the pups grow out of the sleepless nights and toilet training a lot quicker. Of course, that means that teenagedom arrives so much faster, too!

Are you doing any training with Dooley? Is he show type or working type?

So sorry for your loss. It's always hard when we lose a pet; they're such members of the family, especially after so long.

Don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have. Lots of us still remember those early stages very well (they weren't that long ago for me, but feel like an age).

And please try again with the photo. I can't resist a naked puppy belly :)
