Hi all, finally I have been able to post on the forum today! I don't know why I haven't been able to but I now can!!!!

So, good news with Maisie's cruciates.....she has been on restricted lead walking now for about a month and showing no sign of limping or clicking. We've seen the vet and she was very happy with her, in fact, Maisie let her examine her legs without any fuss! She thinks that she only had a micro tear. So, we are now starting to increase her exercise, but taking things relatively slowly. She so needs to get rid of some energy, it's like having a live wire on the end of the lead!

So pleased to hear that Maisie is making good progress and her exercise can be increased. If she's like Juno she is becoming more hyper as you increase the exercise than she was on restricted/lead walking exercise :D

Sounds good - so do micro tears repair themselves then? Glad to hear she's feeling better :)

She was awful on restricted exercise! After about a week she started tracking every smell on the areas where we were walking, barking at dogs on lead, which she had never done before, jumping at people, again never did this in lead before! Crazy bum tucking on lead when approached by other dogs. She looked like she had never had a days training!!!!

Glad you've seen a big improvement in her and it wondered the same as Fiona ,has it repaired or are you having to manage her movements and excercise so it doesn't worsen? X

Quite honestly I don't know how the vet can know it's a micro tear and no they don't heal. There was clearly lots of inflammation the x-ray around the cruciate, causing limping and clicking, but as has been said before you can't see tears on an x-ray. The vet is happy for her to start to exercise and slowly return to her normal level of activity.

She appears to be back to her normal self and I hope to keep it that way by steady exercise, no ball throwing. ditch jumping, etc. I'm not going to take things any further with investigations and keep my fingers crossed that the vet is right that she will be ok. If I see any sign of limping I will be off for a 2nd opinion.
