We are taking our training nice and slowly just a few minutes couple of times a day of clicker training she can sit perfect every time quite shocked if I'm honest, lie down is getting much better if cheese is her treat it's pretty much sorted (yes I think she's a mouse in disguise) and paw and leave is all in our daily fun time with both me & Daisy our 6 year old.....well last night we went to the vet for our 2nd injection so getting ready to see the outside world from ground level instead of being carried, so today I thought we'll try walking on her lead, she's had time with her lead on in the house & dragging it behind her so she got used to it being attached to her collar.....well I'm very pleased to say that with her receiving her cheese treats she walked really nicely up the garden and back down and into the house, we stopped a couple of times and sat down or lay down however a piece of cheese dropped on the floor and she was merrily on her way again going to keep this going over the next week and see how we go.
She's such a pleasant little girl, and now at night when hubby brings her crate into living room she'll go in and sleep with the door open....this is usually after at least 1 hour asleep on hubby's lap lol.....we know we have got a lot to learn and are looking for puppy socialising classes at the minute, we don't expect a crufts champion just a happy member of our family who will enjoy family time and fun walks with the girls.

Sounds as if you're doing really well with Frankie and that she's coming along well. With second injection done, not long until you can actually take Frankie for a walk so all that work, especially with the lead, will come to the fore. First walk in public is so exciting - your puppy is growing up :D

She has her moments when she flies around and becomes completely deaf, this is where we have found the crate really good a couple of minutes and she calms down or if she carries on then it's back in. We know that there are going to be a number of challenging times ahead and recall is the one I'm nervous about however I hope that with consistency and this site we can conquer them.

Aw, what a lovely post. It sounds like you're getting on really well. I remember Willow's first outside off-lead walk very well. It was a mixture of terrifying and exciting. Remember to make the most of these early weeks and let her off the lead a lot. Her instinct will be to stay close to you, and you can use it for working on your recall, which is invaluable later on.

Just one quick comment, which is probably just me misunderstanding - but you said that she will lie down if cheese is her treat. Does this mean you're still luring her with the cheese? You need to fade the lure/bribe out within a few goes so that she doesn't become dependent on it, and keep the treat out of sight until she has completed the behaviour, when you then C&T.

She will lie down & sit now without a treat however if she's being a bit silly or struggling to focus and other rewards fail then cheese tends to be a certain winner....she's just so funny it's like we've had her for ever and it's only 2 weeks today.....she's so different from our other lab & I'm so grateful for that as even 5 years after losing her we still miss her what is lovely is that Frankie is a yellow lab Holly was black and Frankie has 1 black spot of fur on her back that we call her Holly spot

She sounds like she is doing really well
For recall, you could start by you and another person stood about 10foot away from each other and call her back and forth, extending the gap between you once she gets it. I done this from day 1 when we could go out and it worked brilliantly

Sounds like a really good idea and easy to achieve with hubby......think we have just found a kc training club as well that's been recommended by a member of staff at nursery going to try her later she does all the classes from puppy through to gold
