Re: Can t lift her head Oh gosh have been through this twice over the last couple of years... So very very sad. Just stay with her especially at the end, your presence will help her.
Re: Can t lift her head Hi Tina , so sorry that you are going through this sad time that so many of us dog lovers go through in our lives . In an ideal world we would all love to think that our darling dogs would just slip away in their sleep , sadly only a minority do . For the rest, it is up to us as loving owners to make the last but kindest decision for our dear friends . My thoughts are with you , you are so right when you talk of quality of life , I hope your old friend is still comfortable , take care x
Re: Can t lift her head So sad, writing this through tears. Will say a prayer for you both today. Sending you positive thoughts. You will have strength when the time comes. Love from all the gang here, to you all. x
Re: Can t lift her head Tina, just caught up on this post and so sorry you are having such a time with your lovely dog.
Re: Can t lift her head Hello Tina I can't imagine what a dreadful time you are having. However, I wonder of the dose of tramadol is actually too much. I take 200mg of tramadol, and I'm substantial ally heavier than your dog! I would seek a second opinion, as tramadol is well known for causing significant drowsiness, and I often feel drunk when I first wake up! Tramadol is very powerful stuff, and I've found that on its own it is not particularly effective as a pain killer and take anti-inflammatory drugs too. I do hope your baby soon gets better and I wish all the best wishes in the world
Re: Can t lift her head Just an update about my dear girl, she started breathing very fast and giving a little bark out of her every few minutes, no matter what we tried we couldn't settle her , she couldnt lift her head so after an hour and a half at 3 in the morning we decided couldnt let her suffer so we decided to take her to the night vet , he found a large mass in her stomach , he said it was a matter of weeks maybe days we had left with her , so rather than see her suffer we had to do the right thing and let her go, it was 1 of the hardest things I have ever done and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy . We stayed with her too the end and it was very peaceful. Thank u all for ur continued support , the feeling is very raw but I have great memories of my dear wonderful Jess
