Had a small celebration last night - Charlie helped by finding the corks... he now thinks the point of opening a bottle of fizzy stuff and shooting the cork is for him to chase and find it! (Hey, our gun dog training is coming along.... ;D ;D ). champagne charlie by JulieTandCharlie, on Flickr He was as good as gold, apart from a few over excited jumps up . No nipping though, and mostly on his mat when told . But he got to play tuggie all evening, and was still having footballs rolled for him in the garden at midnight - 2 hours after his bedtime! Then they left, and it took ages to calm down the over excited over tired pup and settle in bed!
Re: Champagne Charlie... Little cutie pie....it's all about keeping training fun and interesting......big tick!i think you've covered that! Chris had some friends round not long after we got Dexter and they were getting a bit worse for wear in the garden.vigilance of the pool and the escape route over the wall was not to standard....so The 'Fun Police' ie me ;D decreed it was Dexter's bedtime........NEVER will I live that down......'Hes a dog Angela...he doesn't have a bedtime!!!'Well I'm sorry our dog does and it's generally when the guests start getting up to mischief! He he he!Least I'm good value
Re: Champagne Charlie... Dogs don't have bedtimes? Charlie does, it's 10pm. Mind, that might be more for my benefit than his!
Re: Champagne Charlie... oooooppps i am a naughty mummy , no bed time in this house, think jasper takes after me, he is not big on sleep, he is frightened of missing anything
Re: Champagne Charlie... Guess I must be lucky, Sams bedtime ( self imposed ) is no later than 8p.m. Millie settles down early as well but then it was lights out and lock down at the shelter at 6p.m. :'(
Re: Champagne Charlie... Oh Kate,Millie must be so happy.......it must be so hard in the shelters,I know the staff will always do their best but it makes me sad for those little animals....
Re: Champagne Charlie... Amy was 11 when we first got her but that was way too late for me. Now its 10/1030. In Friday we went out and MIL puppy/baby sat for us for the first time at ours. (all 3 have slept over but think it might be too much work). Anyway we got in about 1030 she asked to go out and then came in and went to her create! I was expecting her to be hyper when we returned.
Re: Champagne Charlie... Hah! I'm going to take a series of photos of my stroppy teen going to bed tonight. It goes like this: Charlie snoring on sofa "Charlie, bedtime" One eye opens, then firmly closes... "Come on..." [Pours puppy off sofa in a snoozy, fluid puddle...he promptly climbs on the arm chair...] "No, get off the armchair, you can't sleep there..." "No, on your feet, your not staying on your TV mat either...." [Puppy reluctantly walks to the back of the house and goes to bed] "On your feet, go for your peep" [make it to the peep spot in the garden, after several lie downs on the grass...] "Good boy, Charlie, bed now" "No, Charlie, we're not playing football now...Charlie, Charlie, come back here..."
Re: Champagne Charlie... He's so beautiful and glossy and cuddly-looking And he obviously appreciates the finer things in life - sofas and champagne.
