Good Morning! My 15 month old puppy always sneezes first thing in the morning when I get up to put him outside to do his business. Is this a sign that he is happy to see me??? or is it "morning" clearing of throat as us humans do sometimes? I don't notice him doing this any other time of the day.....always first thing in the morning. True that we have had a lot of pollen around and it could also be allergic. Thanks.
If he's always greeted you with a sneeze I would take it as something normal for him. I would guess that it was a reaction to high levels of pollen he would be sneezing throughout the day, possibly with sore eyes. I'm sure some of the other members can better advice on allergies in dogs from their own experience as it's not something I've experienced with Juno. If he is sneezing throughout the day I would have a check with the vet to be on the safe side.
Teddy is always sneezing and snorting, I put it down to the pollen and grass seeds etc, shouldn't be anything to worry about
Dex always sneezes in the morning when we wake up....Oh did I mention he sleeps on our bed?Yep,nothing like a face full of Labrador sneeze as you roll over to turn the alarm off!
It could be lots of things. Dogs can sneeze through excitement, to self-calm and as an appeasement gesture. Or because they have an itchy, dry nose
T hanks for all your answers.....Cooper is my first dog ever so anything that is out of the ordinary concerns me....glad to know there are many reasons a pup sneezes!!! Hope the heat in UK has gone down!! Have a wonderful day.
An update....kept my puppy indoors today because of the heat and humidity (I have air conditioning) and he has not sneezed or snorted all day except when I woke him up this morning......so must be allergic to something out there!
