Ok so my earlier post was closed as I mistakenly entered wrong age at the starting. My lab pup is 7 weeks 4 days old and is on baby food and pedigree professional puppy food mixed with eggs.
My question is in 2-3 days he'll touch 8 weeks so is this the right time to shift him to proper dog food only?
Also which brand you would suggest? Pedigree or royal canin or some other?? Im based at India at the moment and here options are bit limited.
And he doesn't like drinking water - how can i make him drink?
He also vomits out his food like just twice so far - anything to worry??
    Thanks in advance!!

As you know the policy of the forum is that puppies shouldn't leave their mothers until 8 weeks of age.

You may find this article helpful on feeding a puppy:

I softened the kibble for both my puppies with some warm water. This may help with your puppies water intake.

First and foremost though if you have any concerns over your puppies eating or drinking please consult your vet.

    Thanks barbara,
Well yes puppy should get home after 8 weeks but due to some circumstances i had to bring him home at 6 weeks only :(
So giving dog puppy food for all meals is fine right?

I think you should speak with your vet about the best approach for your puppy.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. Baby food is not suitable for your puppy. And you don't need to mix eggs with your kibble if you are feeding a complete puppy kibble (Pedigree or Royal Canin) but you must provide fresh water that your puppy can drink at any time he choses. If your puppy is not drinking, you must see a vet, he will get very dehydrated quite quickly.

I am assuming that those two brands of kibble available to you in india is a complete food - just the same as it is in the UK. You'll need to read the packet carefully to be sure.

It wouldn't be appropriate for me to recommend brands, especially as I don't feed kibble to my own dogs. But both the makes you mentioned are reputable brands that are sold all over the world, so either should be fine.

Thats ok I understand but if you dont mind may i ask what you feed your dogs if its not kibble. And after starting dog food is it normal that their poop gets a bit darker and less moist??
